On November 11, 2015, the members of the Fortschrittskolleg: Designing of flexible Work Environments” visited the SmartFactory OWL in Lemgo. The excursion was part of the seminar “Work 4.0: interdisciplinary access to the design of Flexible Work Environments”. The viewing of the SmartFactory gave a deep insight of the application-oriented research for the factory of the future by real IT- and production systems, especially in the adaptability, resource efficiency and men-machine interaction. All subjects deal with the current topics of the doctoral candidates research work. A final discussion with Prof. Dr. Volker Lohweg (Discrete Systems) of the Industrial Institute IT (inIT) completed the visit.
